So here are my 3 New Years Skincare Resolutions for 2014! And I say Skincare because this year I really want to see an improvement in my skin and want it to be looking much more healthier. Well... who doesn't want there skin looking healthy. Anyway here my New Years Resolution 1 ...
1. Keeping to a skincare routine: This year I aim to stick to one skincare routine. Over the last few years I have jumped from products to products and have never stuck to one for a long period of time. Im more like a guinea pig - testing products out for 2 months or so and then dropping them, mainly because I've never really been happy with the products i've bought. Last month I purchased some products that i've never tried so far and i've already started to use them and I hope to continue to use them and stick to a regime. Also I want to make sure that I am cleaning my skin morning and night rather than saying "Oh missing out one night will be fine, I wont cleanse or tone my face tonight, ill just give it a quick wash instead". There will be no ifs and buts, instead I will ensure that all the products i'm set to use are used. Its so important to remove all the dirt and makeup from the entire day and by removing all of dirt it allows your skin to heal and repair without having clogged pores.
2. Getting a good nights sleep: Its so important to get a good nights sleep. After all it can help reduce dark circles, and as well as that, the lack of sleep can cause the skin to look pale. Its important that teens/adults get around 8-9/10 hours of sleep a night, but most of us do not keep to that as we find better things to do or distraction from things such as the internet. Over the last 6 months i'd say iv been getting around 6 hours on a college night and 7-8 hours on a weekend. But I want this all to change so that I am getting at least 8 hours on a college night! Not only will it help my skin out, but maybe I wont feel so tired when I get up the next morning. And last but not least number 3 ...
3: To not pick at my skin: Reoccurring blemishes can be so annoying to those of us that see them daily, and as we all know picking just makes them worse. I'm one of those people who tend to want to pick my skin because I can see the annoying little pimples on my skin every time I look in the mirror. Picking spots/blemishes is just a way of scaring the skin. Blemishes usually last anything from a couple of days to a week but by picking at them they can last anything up to a couple of weeks or even months. Do I really want to have a face full of scaring when I could leave them to heal themselves? No! 100% not! To be really honest I think this is why I have more blemishes, because I pick at them. And the reason behind my redness is because of the picking. Also a closed bump is easier to cover up than a red, scabby wound. So i'm 100% not going to pick at my skin this year! Im so determined! Im going to stand up to myself and hopefully I will see an improvement over the next couple of months.
I hope you enjoyed my three new years resolutions! If you have a similar post, let me know below so I can check yours out! Feel free to comment below as I love being able to know what others think!
Great resolutions! :) I managed to stop picking at my skin at the end of last year, and I have seen such an improvement in my skin! I also find that marks fade quicker when you leave them alone.
ReplyDeleteI'd also recommend that you include La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo into your skincare routine. I've been using it AM and PM daily for over a month now, and my skin has never looked so different! It's especially good at getting rid of marks. I honestly couldn't recommend it enough!
I hope you have a lovely new year, and good luck with your resolutions (and your blog! It's lovely - I followed!)
